European People’s Party (EPP) chairman Joseph Daul congratulated Bulgarian party Citizens for the European Development of Bulgaria (CEDB) for its victory in Bulgaria’s first members of European Parliament (MEP) elections.
CEDB, Bulgaria’s newly formed centrist formation, won narrow victory over Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF).
In voting for CEDB hundreds of thousands of Bulgarians said that the party offers them the best European opportunities, Daul’s letter said.
EPP hoped that the common set of values guiding it and the Bulgarian CEDB would enable the two parties pursue common political and social goals.
It was about time to end conflicts and confrontations and to start a partnership within Bulgaria’s right wing, the letter said.
