Bulgaria’s electricity market needs expansion and the inclusion of new forms of trade, energy experts said.
Rrepresentatives of energy companies are unable to organise electricity trade and they lack a general price which could serve for market evaluation, investor.bg reported.
Experts said that the solution to this problem is the country's participation in energy market exchange. This could mean the creation of national energy bourse or inclusion in a regional energy bourse.
The setting up of a national energy bourse will be costly. The main advantage of an energy bourse is the common public energy price.
According to other experts, Bulgarian energy companies could use the existing Romanian energy bourse. It has already attracted large number of participants with comparatively high liquidity.
Bulgaria's participation on the Romanian energy bourse will result in a unified representative energy price which will be applied in the country.
Energy regulator in this case will be State Energy and Water Regulation Committee (SEWRC), Romanian regulators and regulators from the other neigbouring countries.
