An expert eco council in the Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Water Affairs (RIEW) for Veliko Turnovo approved an investment offer for the construction of a holiday and rural tourism complex in the village of Tsareva Livada, near Veliko Turnovo.
The eco council introduced 19 measures of monitoring and control to guarantee that the construction and the usage of the complex would be nature-friendly. The site was not part of a protected area or zone, the council said.
The construction of a local waste water purifying system was among the conditions for issuing the construction permit.
The vacation complex would spread on 42 000 sq m and would consist of 30 buildings, alleys, green areas and playgrounds, investor.bg said.
The site was located close to a number of historical sights, such as the open-air ethnographic museum Etur, the village of Bozhentsi and the Tsarevets fortress.
