The European Commission (EC) has submitted a written warning to Bulgaria in reference to two separate cases of unsuccessful attempts to incorporate EU laws into local legislation, the media office of the European ombudsman said.
The cases referred to the EC Habitats Directive and the Bird Directive, Focus news agency reported.
European Environment Commissioner Stavros Dimas said that the great bio-diversity in Bulgaria should not put at risk.
Bulgaria should immediately introduce EU directives to guarantee flora and fauna preservation, he said.
