The European Commission denied information published in some Bulgarian media that local air companies will not entered the updated EU blacklist of air carriers.
EC spokesperson responsible for transport Michele Cercone officially denied the information.
No decision that Bulgarian companies will remain outside the blacklist has been taken, Cercone said as quoted by Focus news agency. None of the media that presented such information contacted the EC to receive data, Cercone said.
European experts will take part in an aviation safety summit on February 23. No decision on the blacklist has been taken yet.
Recently EC introduced a safeguard clause for Bulgaria’s aviation due to safety reasons. The safeguard clause has not been reconsidered, Cercone said.
A decision on the blacklist and the taking down of the safeguard clause was going to take some time to make, Cercone said. All information published beforehand was speculative, he said.
