12:00 Tue 11 Sep 2007

Disaster Management Ministry has announced a public procurement for the delivery of emergency vehicles.

The procedure for the collection of offers has already started. Offers can be made until October 1 2007.

The announced order includes emergency rescue vehicles for chemical, radio-active, and biological emergencies. The vehicles will be equipped with pumps for aggressive liquids, motorised sprinklers, as well as equipment to deal with floods a Disaster Management Ministry press release said.

Candidates would have to pay a deposit of 50 000 leva, Dnevnik daily reports. By law the deposit can not exceed one per cent of the value of the contract.

The choice by the Disaster Management Ministry would be based on the economically most attractive offer.

At the end of 2006, ProMobil was awarded the order for the deliver of 40 emergency rescue vehicles for difficult terrain by the Disaster Management Ministry. The company was the only candidate for that order. The total value of that order was close to 8.5 mln leva.
