DENKOVA AND STAVISKI RETURN TO BULGARIA AFTER SERIES OF SHOWS IN JAPAN

Ice dance world champions Albena Denkova and Maxim Staviski will return to Bulgaria on April 1.

Before their return, the gold medalists from the world championship in Tokyo will stage a series of shows in Japan. Audience will be able to see them perform in Osaka, Sapporo and Nagano.

“The support of Japanese fans during the championship was incredible. To show respect we owe them these shows though we are both very tired,” Denkova said.

Denkova and Staviski said that after returning to Bulgaria, they will stage a show in Sofia. Such show could be expected in mid-April, Darik Radio reported.

Darik Radio reported that after Denkova and Staviski became world champions for the second time, they received various offers to start coaching figure skaters abroad.

The pair, however, said it would prefer to stay in Bulgaria and aid the development of local figure skating.

I aplaud the decision of Albena and Maxim to stay in Bulgaria and and support the Figure Skating in their Country.They are true patriotic Bulgarians.At a time that every one leaves their Country for personal gain Albena and Maxim to put their Country 1st is really very moving!!! Bravo Albena and Maxim!!!Bulgaria is such a beautiful Country,you will miss nothing by staying home and help the development of the most beautiful and glamorous sport in the World,Artistic Figure Skating!!!Congratulations again!!!We love you!!!
