15:23 Thu 25 Jan 2007

The number of hotels offered for sale in Bulgaria's bigger resorts was high while demand was decreasing throughout 2006, 24 Chassa daily reported.

Demand remained highest in Nessebar coastal resort. Investors were also interested in the purchase of hotels in Golden Sands, imoti.bg reported.

In the past year 35 hotels were offered for sale in Nessebar and the average price reached 1070 euro per sq m.

A slight decrease in the Golden Sands supply was registered, the report said. Nearly 20 construction are offered for sale in the resort.

The price increase is lowest in Sozopol and Sunny Beach. Nearly 40 hotels are offered for sale in Sunny Beach and the most expensive property costs two million euro.

Family-type hotels were almost entirely unavailable, 24 Chassa reported.

Among the winter resorts, only Bansko and Pamporovo offer hotels for sale. Bansko features nearly 45 hotels and the average price there is 1070 euro per sq m.

Pamporovo prices remain relatively low with the average being 700 euro per sq m. Investors can make a choice between 15 hotels offered for sale at the moment.

High supply and low demand resulted from the fact that increasing number of tourists were interested in apartment rental.
