Jazz singer and double Grammy award winner Dee Dee Bridgewater will arrive in Bulgaria to present her new project The Red Earth–A Malian Journey.

She would stage a concert in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture on March 18 2008, avtora.com reported.

Malian singers and traditional African instruments will accompany Bridgewater’s performance.

Her Music is a clever mixture of African rhythms and typical US jazz.

The project The Red Earth–A Malian Journey presents the roots of Malian music. The project was the culmination of Bridgewater’s decision to discover her African roots, it combined voices, music and instruments of Mali with those of the North American jazz tradition, visitbulgaria.net said. The album included some of the best African singers and musicians who play traditional instruments.

Sofia and Istanbul would be the only two stops of Bridgewater’s tour in the Balkans, visitbulgaria.net said.
