Requirements for the international consultant that will prepare a project for the technical documentation for the construction of Danube Bridge 2 at Vidin-Calafat will be posted online and published within days in the Official Journal of the European Commission, Transport Ministry chief secretary Krasimir Stoyanov said on Wednesday.

The consultant will be paid 5 million euros ($4.4 million) from the IPSA pre-accession program and will be required to be in a sound financial state and to have past experience related to the construction of similar facilities.

The construction of the new bridge will be divided into three phases and the contract for the launch of construction work on the bridge itself and on the adjoined viaducts will be signed during the first phase.
