A unique exposition of Pablo Picasso was opened in the Sofia’s GreenCat Gallery.
The exposition makes an attempt to represent the epoch of Picasso by presenting five of his works, along with works of his contemporaries Salvador Dali and Juan Miro.
The five works of Picasso are from different periods of his life. The earliest one if a lithography from 1934, called Chappeau de paille. The ‘youngest’ work dates back to 1962.
As a contrast GreenCat Gallery presents art of contemporary Bulgarian authors.
By contrasting Picasso, Dali and Miro with Bulgarian artists, GreenCat Gallery hopes to start dialogues, oppositions, parallels and discussions on creative development.
The Embassy of Spain and the French Cultural Institute support the exhibition.
The exposition was opened to commemorate the 126th anniversary of Picasso’s birth. The works can be seen until November 15 2007.
