CULTURE PRICES AWARDED IN BULGARIA'S CAPITAL

Krikor Azaryan was awarded the Special Award of Sofia for his entire oeuvre and for his remarkable achievements during an award ceremony in national theatre Ivan Vazov on September 17.

At the ceremony awards for brilliant achievements in arts and culture were given out. Azaryan received from Mayor Boiko Borissov the statue of St. Sofia and 5000 leva, Za Grada reported.

The statue was made by Georgi Chapkunov.

The award for literature went to Elinka Boyadjieva.

Vasil Kazandjiev received the award for music for his Symphony number 5 while the award for visual arts went to Lyuben Zidarov for his exhibition 50:50:50.

Director Iglika Trifonova received the award for cinema for her film Investigation.

The award for architecture went to Tanko Serafimov and his collective for the Porsche Centre.

The awards for theatre and journalism were not awarded this year.
