CORRUPTION CONTROVERSY INVESTIGATION IN BULGARIA TO END IN TWO DAYS
12:03 Tue 29 May 2007

In two days the latest, Prosecution will present the results of the investigation of a corruption controversy involving Economy and Energy Minister Roumen Ovcharov and head of the National Investigative Service (NSI) Angel Alexandrov.

Prosecutor Kamen Sitnilski said that Sofia City Prosecution will finalise its work on May 30 or 31.

On May 29, Alexandrov is expected to testify on the case, Focus news agency reported.

Sitnilski said that most work on the case was based on the statements of people involved in the controversy and very little substantial evidence has been presented.

The lack of such evidence did not signify that the inspection would fail producing results, Sitnilski said.
