Corporate celebrity charity ski event in Bansko

Corporate sponsors, celebrities, media people and several of Bulgaria’s top models participated in the annual charity ski event in Bansko. 

The event, organised by Balkanwood Productions chief executive John Hazelwood and TravelStoreMaker.com, together with Face to Face Bulgaria, took place on April 8.  The race started at 1pm, on Shiligarnika, one of the most popular slopes in Bansko.

The event served two purposes: to promote  the “First Chance” special educational programme, a Face to Face initiative dedicated to orphans and their future in Bulgaria, and  to back Bulgaria’s bid to host the Winter Olympics in 2014.

Celebrities and models who attended included Magdalena Valchanova of Face to Face and Michael Cory Davis, an actor and producer of “Svetlana’s Journey” and who is also a Face to Face Goodwill Ambassador. Other Bulgarian celebrities and models who participated included: Albena Petrova of Scent, Kamen Vodenicharov, Milen Tzvetkov, Niky Iliev and Chaka Hayes hosts of the new show Lipstick, Desi Tenekedjieva, Yana Marinova, Kali, Diana Kubovska, Veneta Harizanova, Elena Angelova, Gergana Polejanova, Atanas Mihailov, Rosi Chernogorova, Rosi Ivanova, Rumi Peeva, Kiril Peltekova and Mell Kiselkova from Big Brother.

A Sofia Echo team also participated in the competition, together with the teams from Kamenitza, IRM, Sin City, Face to Face, TravelStoreMaker.com, Kempinski Bansko, MM TV, OCB, e-Mell, Milen Tzvetkov, Balkanwood, Remax Ireland, BUFO, DestinationBulgaria.bg, Hollywood Tan and Hair. The major sponsors of the event were ULEN, Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena and Couture & Design and TravelStoreMaker.com. The media partners of the event were The Sofia Echo, Bulgarian National Television, Nova TV, MM and BNR.

The awards dinner was hosted by Niki Iliev, Yana Marinova, and Chaka Hayes. Magdalena Valchanova presented the awards to the winners. In the team competition, BUFO won first place, second place wаs won by MM TV and third place was won by Kempinski Grand Arena Bansko. In the individual competition, the female winners in the two age groups were Gabriela Balareeva from BUFO, and Kes Bonet from Hollywood Tan and Hair, who won hair extensions. The male winners of a prize of a weekend getaway at the Kempinski Grand Arena Bansko were won by Dimitar Dimitrov and Phil Roth, both from BUFO. The best snowboarder in the event was Bojidar Petrov.

Following the awards dinner, there was a dance show performed by M Dance and a fashion show of winter  and spring Collections produced by Vera Tinkova, manager of X Ground Models.
