Labour and Social Policy Minister Emilia Maslarova said that budget 2007 was balanced and was fulfilling all previous social promises of the Cabinet.
At the same time representative of the right wing opposition party Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB) Vesselin Metodiev said the party will oppose the draft budget.
Budget 2007 envisioned increase in pensions and wages, Maslarova said as quoted by Focus news agency. The National Assembly was going to decide whether to support the draft budget or turn it down.
Metodiev said that budget 2007 was not balanced and hindered economic growth.
Representative of Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) Yordan Tsonev said that the party was going to support the draft budget.
Budget 2007 envisions some income increase and tax cuts. Previously representatives of labour unions said that the envisioned income increase was insufficient to bring Bulgarian standards of living up to the European levels.
