13:35 Mon 20 Aug 2007

Consumer Protection Commission (CPC) representatives will launch a regional campaign for inspection of tourism sites in southern Black Sea towns.

CPC will check various services offered at beaches, hotels and restaurants in the region, Focus news agency reported.

The inspections will last for five days, and will be prolonged if needed, CPC head Damyan Lazarov said.

So far, CPC has made 15 safety checks on services offered at Black Sea beaches, ten occurred in the north, and five on the south.

Some of the violations registered included lack of price lists at massage sites. Many of those services failed to offer a payment receipt to clients.

CPC head on the territory of Bourgas has issued ten orders for temporary closure of tourism sites, six of which were imposed on restaurants and four on hotels.

So far only one ban was issued on the territory of the north Black Sea.
