Members of Parliament gave 192 votes in favour of the fourth set of constitution amendments.
The vote is third on the constitution modifications seen as one of the pre-conditions for Bulgaria's EU entry. EU demanded such changes so that Bulgaria would guarantee transparency and accountability in the work of its judiciary.
The amendments happen to be among the most serious constitution changes both in number and in content, Bulgarian news agency BTA reported.
Representative of the ruling Coalition for Bulgaria Mihail Mikov said that the amendments were needed since dynamic developments have been observed in the past years.
Another ruling party, National Movement Simeon II (NMSII) also supported the amendments fully.
MPs said that the set of constitution amendments fully took into consideration EU recommendations.
Constitution amendments will introduce the professionalisation of the Bulgarian army starting January 1 2008. The National Assembly is to have a separate budget. Political immunity magistrates and officials enjoy will be limited. A new inspectorate will supervise the work of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC).
