Bulgaria already received the applications of entities interested in the privatisation of cigarette producer Bulgartabac Holding.

KNSB labour union representative Zheliazko Hristov said that specific offers have been received.

Offers came from a company having Bulgarian representation and including foreign bank consortium as purchase guarantee, Zheliazkov said.

Zheliazkov said that the origin of the company’s funds is already under investigation.

Bulgartabac should be privatised immediately, Zheliazkov said. The company lost in value after the start of a corruption controversy involving its executive manager Hristo Lachev.
