The State Commission for Energy and Water Regulation (SCEWR) confirmed new higher ceiling prices for water supply and sewerage services for 21 sewerage companies in Bulgaria, the SCEWR said in a statement on November 30. The prices refer to prices for households and take effect on December 1 this year.
The water supply operators requested the price increases in early November on the grounds of electricity price hikes as of July 1 this year. Electricity prices represents a big component in the spending column.
Among regional water and sewerage companies to have requested a price hike are Isperih, Razgrad, Kubrat and Plovdiv. The prices charged per cu m range between 0.69 leva per cu m and 1.46 leva per cu m.
