After the end of the summer season, coastal construction works are once again underway. Investors are not alarmed by the warnings that excessive construction might deter tourists. A large number of new hotels are being built along the southern coast. Most will start operating next summer. Construction is taking place on the last free land at the resorts, as well as on agricultural areas surrounding them. A square metre of agricultural land along the coast costs about 100 euro. The prices near Sozopol reach 170 euro. Foreign investors from Russia and England have purchased agriculture land worth about a million euro. Their plan is to construct vacation villages. Another region that is attracting interest is near Sarafovo and Bourgas, where a yacht harbour will be built in the near future.
Most investors believe the interest of foreign tourists in the Black Sea coast will continue next summer. Low prices are the main reason that foreigners prefer the Bulgarian coast. A 10-day holiday package in a luxury Bulgarian hotel may cost as little as 280 euro, together with air tickets, for example, Standart newspaper reported.
