The local power distribution unit of the Czech Electricity Company (CEZ) in Bulgaria had completed the merger of three regional grids into a single entity, American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria edition IntelliNews reported.
The grid servicing the capital Sofia would cover all responsibilities of the other two grids and would be renamed to CEZ Distribution Bulgaria as of January 1 2008, IntelliNews said.
The aim of the operation is to improve efficiency, management and activities of the company and to provide same service levels in all of the western part of the country.
According to IntelliNews, CEZ intended to continue to invest in network development and in improvements of the quality of the services.
