In the past months some businesses in Bulgaria tried to deal with their competitors through participation in corruption schemes, Prosecutor-General Boris Velchev said.
Velchev met representatives of the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum (BBLF) and diplomats from the UK and Finland, mediapool.bg reported.
Such practices should be avoided, Velchev said but the Prosecution was not going to name specific companies that were involved in similar schemes.
Business representatives needed to inform regional prosecutions of such instances to speed up investigation, Velchev said.
Bulgarian businesses were not corrupt and lacked the potential to create general corruption schemes, he said. Now companies in the country had to overcome the image created in the 90s, said Velchev.
