InvestBulgaria Agency executive director Stoyan Stalev called for Bulgarian and foreign investors to allocate more money for the development of industrial zones, during a meeting of the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum (BBLF).
Bulgaria had enough construction plots to allow construction of more industrial zones and could also use EU structural funds for financing the projects, Bulgarian National Radio reported.
Another form of profitable investment was innovation centres to promote Bulgarian qualified workers who received training in Europe, Stalev said. Over 30 000 Bulgarians study in Western Europe, 12 000 of them in Germany.
Other projects discussed during the meeting included opportunities for developing automobile industry in the country. Bulgaria should use the experience of neighbouring countries and attract investors for developing plants for automobile parts production.
At present most investment goes to the energy sphere. Stalev said that the Cabinet's priority was the conclusion of the Bourgas-Alexandroupolis and NABUCO oil and gas pipeline projects.
