Business bargaining around the Bourgas-Alexandroupolis pipeline has been deepening.
The entrance of Kazakhstan and the US to the pipeline construction consortium were among the main scenarios.
The two countries would buy up a portion of the shares currently held by Bulgaria and Greece, according to Greece’s Ta Nea newspaper.
The companies that have officially expressed interest in becoming shareholders are the US Chevron company and Kazakhstan’s Kazmunaigaz.
Their inclusion also would entitle the two companies to use large oil fields in Kazakhstan.
Bourgas-Alexandroupolis is a long prepared project that will transfer Russian oil through Bulgaria to the Greek port of Alexandroupolis.
