On May 2, burglars broke into a food store in the town of Bouhovo and stole 80 000 leva after breaking the ATM in the store, Bulgaria’s Interior Ministry said in a statement.
The robbery took place at 2.15am.
The robbers broke in through the back door, removed the meter and alarm of the shop’s ATM machine and then emptied three cash compartments with notes of 10, 20 and 50 leva.
Investigation by officers from the Sofia Interior Ministry Directorate Investigation into the case continues, the ministry said.
