According to the latest poll by the National Centre for Survey of Public Opinion, ruling Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) registered an increase in public support.
The party received 20 to 22 per cent of the public support, Focus news agency reported.
According to the research Sofia mayor Boiko Borissov's political movement Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria(CEDB) received from nine to 12 per cent of the trust, which makes it the second most popular political organisation after BSP.
CEDB is followed by the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), which gets six to seven per cent of the public support. Ultra-nationalist movement Ataka receives five per cent of the public trust, which was only 38 per cent of the people who voted for the movement in 2005.
According to the poll, the two most popular presidential nominations would be the ones of President Georgi Purvanov and Borissov with respectively 35 and 15 per cent of the public trust.
Union of Democratic Forces (UDF) leader Petar Stoyanov gets five per cent support for his presidential nomination. National Movement Simeon II (NMSII) leader Simeon Saxe-Coburg is supported by three per cent of the electorate.
The public support for Purvanov registered a two per cent increase since May. Over 45 per cent of Bulgarians said the main criteria for choosing the future president would be which political parties supported the candidate.
