Owners of neighbouring real estate to Sofia's seventh school have restitution claims to 250 sq m of its playground.
The neighbours of the school have made several previous attempts to take ownership of the disputed land, Za Grada said.
On July 22 2007 they cut open the door of the school, entered the courtyard with a digger and started taking down a wall.
At the demolished wall some 300 students and teachers from the school gathered on September 17.
Deputy Mayor for Education Iordanka Fandukova assured that Mayor Boiko Borissov would recommend to the Municipal Council to change its order from 1993. This order gives the neighbouring owners rights to part of the school playground.
Borissov want to be given by the municipality the right to represent the interests of the schools in court.
Fandukova promised the support of the municipality in the school's attempt to apply for European funding to restore the façade of the school and the demolished wall.
Students made a wall out of cardboard boxes, on which the text In protection of the seventh school was written.
