The ruling Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), National Movement Simeon II (NMSS) and Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) formed a coalition as an excuse to avoid fulfilling their pre-election promises, a declaration of the opposition party Union of Democratic Forces (UDF) said.

The coalition policy could lead to the introduction of safeguard clauses  for Bulgaria's EU entry. Bulgarians live in poverty and uncertainty, instead of  receiving 20 per cent salary and pension rise as promised, the declaration said.

According to another opposition party, Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB), the Cabinet could only show its helplessness during its first year in office. Bulgaria would enter EU weak, poor and unprepared. The coalition Cabinet impeded Bulgaria's economic growth, a DSB declaration, quoted by Focus news agency said.

During its year in office the Cabinet approved 210 integration documents and a decrease in the economic growth had not been registered, MRF MP Yordan Tsonev said in response to the opposition accusations.
