US commercial attache James Rigassio said that the requirements for Bulgarian companies willing to participate in the setting up of the foreign military bases in Bulgaria would be drafted by the end of the summer.
On June 27 and 28 the American Chamber of Commerce and the US embassy to Bulgaria will present possibilities for participation in the military facilities construction near the Bezmer and Graf Ignatievo airports. More details about the tender procedures and the requirements for the applicants would be revealed in September.
Over 200 Bulgarian and US companies will participate in the forum, mediapool.bg reported. Rigassio divided the companies willing to participate in the project into three categories.
Larger companies could become major suppliers for the foreign bases, Rigassio said. Small and medium-sized companies will be offered the chance to co-operate with chief suppliers. The third category included companies in charge of the bases' commercial management.
The construction work would include building dormitories and auxiliary constructions like training facilities.
Rigassio said that Bulgarian companies in charge of the food supply would have to seek the co-operation of fast food chains like McDonalds and introduce credit card payments.
