Libyan court would probably find the Bulgarian nurses accused of intentional HIV infection guilty, Deputy Foreign Minister Feim Chaushev said.
Five Bulgarian nurses are accused of the deliberate HIV infection of more than 400 children in a hospital in Libya's Benghazi.
Dnevnik newspaper quoted Chaushev as saying that he expected the next court sitting of the trial on September 21 2006 to be the last one. The court would probably announce the sentences until the middle of October, he said.
A confirmation of the death sentences was going to provoke negative international reaction, said Chaushev.
Bulgarian authorities had thought over all possible decisions of the court and would find a solution to the problem, he said.
Libya kept strictly all engagements taken during the discussions with Bulgaria over the nurses' case, Chaushev said. Libya had the political will to conclude the trial fast, he said.
