“The time has come for a fundamental discussion on political parties and on changes in the political system, but to say that BSP [Bulgarian Socialist Party] is trying to cut off some parties from political life is not serious,” former interior minister Roumen Petkov told the morning talk show of private broadcaster bTV concerning the amendments to the law on political parties discussed by BSP.
He added that “as a society, we need to take a look at who takes part in political life. Is it normal that there are 400 parties in Bulgaria?”.
