After expulsion from the parliamentary group of United Democratic Forces (UtDF), Order, Law and Justice leader Yane Yanev explained the reasons in the morning show of private broadcaster Nova TV. It was not the lack of confidence, he said. “I had always had maintained [good] relations […] i.e. there is no room for mistrust.” According to Yanev, the reasons were that “Order, Law and Justice defeated Union of Democratic Forces (UDF) on the presidential elections, we defeated them at the local election sand in Sandanski and Kazanluk.”
UDF leader Plamen Yuroukov “decided to make this step […] because he understood from very high level […] that I have information for his activity as a businessman dealing with coffee.” Yanev said that Yuroukov was involved in smuggling and corruption. UtDF representative Ivan Kolchakov said that “recently there was no compatible work [in the coalition, regarding Order, Law and Justice], it was rather parallel and rival”.
UDF member of Parliament Yordan Bakalov spoke about the new agency to use special intelligence methods in the morning show of the private broadcaster bTV. “Its role will be to collect information,” he said. “State Agency for National Security (SANS) will use it as a technical agency.” “The big problem is that the agency has to be technical, but the way they are planning it, it would have some operative functions,” Bakalov said.
There was little reason for the National Movement for Stability and Progress (NMSP), which is part of the ruling coalition, not to support the new Interior Ministry law, NMSP member of Parliament Yani Yanev (no relation) told Bulgarian National Television. It was a draft-law, which was drafted with the active collaboration of the ministry, he said.
