Democrats for a Strong Bulgaria’s (DSB) goal from now on is to isolate the government and to organise, together with other parties and organisations, a day of boycott, DSB deputy leader Daniel Mitov told Bulgarian National Television (BNT).

DSB's aim was not to cause disorder or chaos, because “the authorities themselves caused chaos”, Mitov said. The aim is to show that there is another Bulgaria, which has a will, can offer an alternative and revert to the track of a European future.

“This alternative would be a reforming cabinet, which will continue the reforms started in 2001, many of which were ceased,” Mitov said.

Asked about the date of the boycott, Mitov said “in September, of course". A headquarters is currently being formed, and labour union and other organisations would join it to decide what to do.

“The draft-law on the common parts of residential buildings tries to address a number of practical issues, to resolve conflict situations,” Yanaki Stoilov, chair of the Parliamentary Legal Committee, said on the morning show of private broadcaster bTV.

“Everyone who has property has to pay for the common parts; it's not a matter of income,” Stoilov said, asked whether there would be discounts for pensioners.

Lovech metropolitan bishop Gavrail commented for bTV on the case of a hegumen (abbot) setting a monastery on fire. “If it is proven that he [the Father Superior] started the fire, he would be expelled from the religious order and would cease to be a priest.”

The damages to the monastery caused by the fire caused were “minimal”, the metropolitan bishop said.
