BULGARIAN MAN CAUGHT TRAFFICKING IN BABIES
10:09 Fri 27 Jul 2007

A Bulgarian man has been trafficking babies abroad from Bulgaria's seaside city of Varna.

An undercover team from the BBC revealed the activities of a criminal, who sells babies to be "exported" abroad.

The trafficker, who calls himself Harry, showed children to the undercover team pretending to adopt a child for a British businessman with criminal record that prevented him from legally adoption a child.

The price of the children was set at more than 60 000 euro, and the trafficker was ready to send the babies to London for additional payment.

He guaranteed the baby's arrival in London by a channel previously used for trafficking in sex workers.

The case is being handled by police and the social services in Varna.
