Unfortunately in 2006 Bulgaria failed finding solution to the case of the Bulgarian nurses sentenced to death for intentional HIV infection in Libya, President Georgi Purvanov said during a meeting with ambassadors.
The problem was going to be solved through talks between Bulgaria and Libya and through the involvement of the international community, said Purvanov as quoted by Focus news agency.
Austrian ambassador Karl Diem said that Bulgaria could rely on the support of the international community.
Bulgaria achieved a number of goals, among which EU accession, said Purvanov. Over the past years Bulgaria proved to be one of the most dynamically evolving economies in Southeastern Europe, said he.
In the coming year, the country was going to be involved in international and European issues, among which the acceptance of the European constitution and common energy policies, said Purvanov.
