Interior Ministry information showed that the Bulgarian shot dead in Italy on September 17 had previous criminal record.
Stoyan Aleksandrov, aged 18, was shot in the Italian town of Mondragone when two armed Italians tried to rob the house where Aleksandrov was living with four other Bulgarians.
The father of the man, Stefan Aleksandrov, was wounded during the shooting and was taken to hospital in critical condition.
All four Bulgarians were living in Italy illegally. None of the men have criminal record in Italy. The men worked in the sphere of agriculture.
Stoyan and Stefan Aleksandrovi left Bulgaria in 2006. They declared that the aim of their trip to Italy was a visit.
Italian carabinieri were still working on the case and trying to identify the assaulters, Darik Radio reported.
