Bulgarias national karate kyokushin team won 16 out of 18 possible medals, seven of them gold in the US open karate championship in Los Angeles.
Anelia Assenova won the gold medal in the 55kg weight category and a bronze medal in kata.
Daniela Dineva and Ivelina Banousheva ranked second and third in the 65kg category.
Daniela Cherneva defeated Nadezhda Petrova in a Bulgarian final in the over 65 kg category.
Among the men, Alexander Petrov won the title in the 70kg category. He was selected for the competitor with best technique at the tournament.
In the same category Nikola Kirov ranked third and won the bronze medal.
Another Bulgarian final took place in the up to 80kg category. Stilyan Petrov ranked first, followed by Mladen Banoushev.
Petar Martinov and Hristo Hristov ranked second and third in the heaviest category.
The Bulgarian team ended the tournament with the highest number of medals.
