Motives behind the explosion that occurred last night in front of the house of Bulgarian journalist Vassil Ivanov have been discussed during a meeting with Interior Minister Roumen Petkov, Ivanov said.
The journalist, working for Nova Television, said he knows which one of his investigations produced the blast, Novinar newspaper reported.
A bomb went off in front of the door of Ivanov’s apartment at 3 am last night. No inhabitants of the building were harmed but the blast produced serious damage to the building and to vehicles parked nearby.
Nearly 400 grams of explosive substance were used. Ivanov’s mother and sister were in the apartment at the time of the explosion.
Petkov ensured Ivanov the Interior Ministry is putting all effort in solving the case. Today Petkov reported to President Georgi Purvanov and the National Assembly on the issue.
Ivanov said he has already received threats and as a result uses the services of bodyguards. The journalists said the explosion would not affect his work and the investigations will go on. Nova TV supports Ivanov and will continue airing his reports, media representatives said.
