Romanian prosecutors, investigating organised crime and terrorism baned Bulgarian citizen Stamen Stanchev, a Russian and a Turkish citizen from leaving Bucharest in the coming 30 days, Romanian newspaper Adevarul reported.
The three can appeal the decision. According to Romanian media, the prosecution and investigative office had information that the three were involved in activities threatening the national security.
Some of these involved the leakage of information on upcoming privatisation deals, Romanian newspapers reported.
According to Gandul newspaper Stanchev was an intermediary in the leakage of information concerning the privatisation of Romanian companies in the energy sector.
A number of Romanian officials were allegedly involved in the scheme, as well.
Romania's energy minister Ioan Codrut Seres said as quoted by Cotidianul newspaper that information on all energy privatisation deals would be made public.
