Bulgarian Foreign Ministry condemned the use of force against the peaceful demonstrators in Myanmar, a press statement from the ministry said on September 28 2007.
"We call on the cabinet of Myanmar to stop the use of violence without delay and to take steps towards national reconciliation through dialog with all political parties in the country," the press statement said.
The ministry made an appeal for the release of opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi as well as the leaders and participants in the peaceful demonstrations.
The statement said the ministry supported increased sanctions by the EU against the military regime in Myanmar and discussion of the situation in the Security Council of the UN.
