Express Service, a Rousse-based locomotive manufacturer and repairer, struck an agreement with Hegenscheidt to build locomotives under the trademark of the German company, Tsvetelin Kolev, a manager at Express Service, was quoted by Dnevnik business daily as saying.
The agreement also foresees the sale of machines to clients of the German company. The immediate order backlog of Express Service includes the sale of two locomotives to a Chinese company and another two to the Kosovo railway operator.
At present, the company is building a modern facility off Rousse, where it will start serial production of locomotives.
Earlier this year, the company emerged as winner in a tender to deliver a locomotive to Metropoliten, the Sofia-based subway operator. Another locomotive was sold to a Jerusalem-based company, the manager said.
