New cable TV broadcaster Vest TV (VTV) will begin operation on October 3 and will be available on all cable providers, the satellite service ITV Partners and can also be watched online on Neterra.tv, VTV chief manager Ani Lincheva told The Sofia Echo on October 1.
More than half of the programmes of VTV will be about the environment, while the rest will focus on culture, cooking lessons, programmes about wine, literature and arts, martial arts and others. A special discussion programme with participants of the non-governmental environment sector in Bulgaria will also be broadcasted. There will also be a large film programme with premieres of eco documentaries and films. Series on the life of Leonardo Da Vinci will also be broadcasted, Lincheva said.
VTV target mostly young people above the average intellectual level, Lincheva said. “However, we will also try to attract viewers from all age and social groups because the environgment is a way of living and the better way of living,” she said.
Vi Vesta Holding company is the owner of VTV. The chief director of the new channel is Milena Milotinova, former news anchor at Bulgarian National Television and member of Parliament for the National Movement Simeon II in 2001/05. Other experts from the environment and media fields will also work for it, Lincheva said.
