Parliament has passed a programme by the Bulgarian Education Ministry for developing the educational system in Bulgaria over the next ten years.
Deputy Education Minister Kircho Atanasov said that efficiency had been the main goal of the programme, and had been the focus of efforts over the past few years, according to Focus news agency.
Another goal is improving the materials in schools in order to foster the creativity of teachers.
The minister also said that 15 programmes have been drafted for a total of 171 million leva project funding for projects devised by the schools themselves.
An improvement of quality and efficiency of schools may only happen once students themselves offer their ideas for the betterment of their learning environments, said Atanasov.
