Custom officers seized a number of antiques at the Bulgarian-Serbian border checkpoint of Vrushka Chouka.
The artifacts were found in a truck leaving Bulgaria, mediapool.bg reported. Two men, father and son, were driving the truck.
The customs officers seized 5040 artifacts, among which 4483 coins, arrow heads, religious axes and rings.
The antiques were very well preserved and precious, mediapool.bg said.
According to officials the artifacts were among the most expensive items to be taken illegally out of the country.
