Filip Dimitrov, aged 28, confessed murdering 41-year-old Iraqi Ali Mohammad Taher with a cross-bow in the centre of Sofia on September 11 2007.
Taher was shot in the stomach in front of the shop where he worked. He was hospitalised in Pirogov emergency centre, but medics could not save him.
A day later, around 4.30pm on October 12, Dimitrov went to a station of the Gendarme near the Presidency and confessed to the crime.
Police found a weapon similar to the one used in the crime in Dimitrov’s home, mediapool.bg reported.
The motives for the crime are still being investigated.
Dimitrov had a previous criminal record for robbery and drug possession.
