Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) investigates companies and branch organisations from five economic sectors for agreements on the introduction of common prices, CPC announced on October 16 2007.
Between September 28 and October 16 2007, the commission searched the offices of unions and associations of companies, active in the branches in which prices raised significantly recently, mediapool.bg reported.
Companies from the dairy products and plant oils sectors were examined first. Prices in these sectors raised simultaneously and with an almost equal rate, against competitiveness rules.
Bread, confectionery, chicken meat and eggs and taxi services are the other sectors CPC investigates.
CPC representatives seized software copies from the offices searched and they will be examined in a specialised laboratory for analysis of cartel agreements.
The investigations’ deadline would depend on the evidences collected and the character of each case, mediapool.bg said.
