A Bulgarian citizen was shot dead in the Spanish capital of Madrid on July 4 2007.
Police identified him as Pencho Atanasov, 33, Spanish El Pais daily reported.
Atanasov was murdered around 1am. He was shot in the shoulder, in one artery and in the chest.
Atanasov was walking down the street when he was fired at. He fell at the entrance of a pub. Customers saw him and called emergency aid. When ambulances arrived, Atanasov was already dead, El Pais said.
Witenesses testified differently on how Atanasov’s murderers escaped from the crime scene. Some said that they drove a black Seat Leon, others claim that they escaped in a taxi.
Interpol had accused Atanasov of two robberies and had issued two orders for his arrest. The first order was issued in September 2002 and the second, in 2003.
