A Bulgarian citizen was travelling in the train from Moscow to Saint Petersburg that ran off the rails on the night of August 13 2007, the Foreign Ministry said.
Krasimir Laskov went alone to a hospital in Saint Petersburg after the accident, Focus news agency reported. He suffered no serious injures.
The Foreign Ministry has no information on whether other Bulgarians were injured in the accident.
The train derailed when a home-made bomb detonated via remote control in front of the locomotive.
According to Russian newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda, 41 people were injured, of whom 15 were hospitalised.
The bomb was placed on the rails. A certain waggon could have been the target of the bombers.
Railway transport on the route was stopped temporarily, as more bombs could have been placed on the rails, gaseta.ru said. Currently, only cargo trains are allowed to pass the route.
Russian transport police are searching for witnesses of the accident in the villages along the entire railway.
