This years' edition of the Bulgarian Christmas charity campaign would start on December 1 2007, a press release by the Presidents' press office said.
The 2006 edition of the Bulgarian Christmas campaign, held on the initiative and under the patronage of President Georgi Purvanov and his wife Zorka Purvanova raised over 2.6 million leva.
It provided 19 hospital institutions with medical equipment and aided the treatment of 89 children.
Over 400 thousand leva were used to help children suffering from diseases, the medicines for which were not financed by the state.
The remaining 2.2 million leva were used to buy medical equipment.
