Former world chess champion Antoaneta Stefanova will take part in the international women’s tournament Cup of Northern Ural 2006.
The tournament will take place from July 22 to August 1 in Krasnoturyinsk, Russia, BGNES Sport agency reported.
For the fourth consecutive year the tournament would bring the strongest female chess players to one place, BGNES reported.
Chess players would compete in nine rounds. The award pool of the tournament reached $ 10 000.
Last year, Stefanova performed poorly, ranking last in the tournament. In 2005, Indian competitor Koneru Humpy received the cup.
